Get Your Google Plus Business Page NOW!
Google Plus started out very strong with their latest social networking scheme called Google Plus and now they have made Google Plus Business pages a must have for small businesses. Google Plus made it to 10 million users in a very short time. Google tried a couple other social networking attempts but fell short. So far this one seems to be sticking. Only time will tell if the long range prognosis is a success. No matter what your opinion is of Google Plus for personal use, as a small business owner you would be wise to spend a few minutes setting up a Google Plus Business page.
815iMedia Google Plus Business Page
I recently created the 815iMedia Google Plus Business page in about 5 minutes. It is merely answering very few questions about your business and uploading a picture or logo. You would be well advised to describe your company or product as much as possible.
Update Your Google Plus Business Page
The easy part is creating your page. And while creating the page is exceptionally important, it is just the start of the journey. Think Facebook fan pages. Just a presence really does very little to drive traffic to your web page or business. In reality, it may drive no traffic to your business by itself. However, for those looking for you in the Google Plus Business Pages, it is one more way to be found.
To make the page worthwhile, you need to post HELPFUL information to your business page periodically. This page is just another way to communicate with your customers and build relationships. If you have a Facebook fan page and you regularly update that page, you would be advised to update your Google Plus Business page at the same time.
Another piece of advice would be to change the wording slightly. At the very least it will keep you from competing against yourself in search results. Just post to one and rewrite it. There is no need to spend a lot of time on the re-write, just add some information to the secondary post of value to your readers.
Build Relationships
As always I warn against sales in a social networking media like Google Plus Business Pages. You are using this vehicle of marketing to build relationships….not sell. Build trust and you will build a foundation of customers that will be faithful. Google Plus Business pages will also allow you to hear from your customers. Obviously, you don’t want to collect negative comments but you do want to use it to help understand your customers and their needs and wants better.
While talking about posting comments, its tempting to post some positive fake comments. Resist the temptation. It’s best to let the comments come naturally. In large part because you never quite know how Google is collecting analytics on the comments. It’s possible they could catch you and ban your account for life. The small gain is not worth the possible long term loss. Much the same way that trying to scam Yelp can cause you problems.
